Having just come off of yet another snow day, I am not sure where I am finding the energy for this post. That said, I feel your pain stay- and work-at-home moms and dads and since there is a possibility we may have another school closing tomorrow I am pushing through my fatigue to bring you this Snow Day Bingo printable! As a mama, I refuse to play cruise director, coming up with fun stuff for my kids to do all day long. At the same time, I feel like if I just let them be they will spend the whole day in front of a screen. I think screens are great in small doses but too much of it makes my kids cranky and sluggish. Honestly, how can you be tired when all you have done is played Minecraft all day?
So I put my thinking cap to come up with a fun way to keep them busy and let them earn some screen time. The activities I added to our own version of Snow Day Bingo will get the kids moving, helping out around the house, eating healthy, and having fun ON THEIR OWN. In our version of Snow Day Bingo, each completed row will earn them 30 minutes of screen time. You can use whatever reward you want in your dojo! When my boys were younger I kept a basket of goodies handy full of knick knacks that came home in birthday party goodie bags or that I found at the dollar store. Something like that would also make a great reward. One little treat per row. It is totally up to you how you reward your kids but I would love to hear what you decide to do. Let me know in the comments!
Ready to start? Go ahead and download the Snow Day Bingo templates. You will receive two files that you can download instantly. One is blank that you can fill in by hand and the other is chock full of fun ideas that I came up with. You can also use Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Reader or Preview to edit my ideas and reward with your own! Have fun and good luck!
